Australia's three Olympic-distance world triathlon champions will race at the national sprint championships this weekend in Geelong.
Two-time elite women's champion Emma Moffatt, Emma Jackson (under-23) and Ashleigh Gentle (juniors) will headline the women's race on Sunday.
Moffatt and her partner, fellow Beijing Olympian Brad Kahlefeldt, will have their first serious hitouts of the Australian summer at the sprint nationals.
"For our elite competitors like Emma Moffatt and Brad Kahlefeldt it will be a race to see where they're at - the first time they have raced since the world championship final in Budapest last September," said national coach Shaun Stephens.
"It will be a case of some of our seasoned hard heads against the hot shot youngsters, who all have some racing under their belts.
"The sprint distance is always an ideal hit out to see where they are at with their training and the chance to win an Australian title."
The sprint races consist of a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run.
The men will race on Saturday afternoon and the women's event will be on Sunday afternoon as part of the Geelong multisport festival.
They will be the first races in Triathlon Australia's national championship series.
