SKELETON: The 2018 Australian Olympic Team has landed in the PyeongChang Mountain Village, with debutant skeleton athlete Jackie Narracott being the first Team member to arrive last night.

Narracott, who is set to compete in the women’s skeleton event on Day 7 and 8, settled into her room at the Olympic Village where she was greeted with a bag full of uniform, plenty of goodies and most excitingly, her race suit.

“It's very cool to finally be here, there's so much to see and do,” Narracott said.

“We get to be excited kids before getting down to business. It was cool walking into my room and seeing two big bags of kit waiting for me. They've done a great job on the uniforms!”

The 27-year-old said she felt instantly at home in the Australian building which includes an athlete zone filled with nutritionist approved snacks and lots of space for athletes to relax, do some rehabilitation and prepare for competition.

“Everything is super comfy, looks great and is thankfully very warm. I'm glad we've got a few days here before training starts to run around exploring first,” Narracott said, who will take a few days to get her bearings in the South Korean city of PyeongChang.

“I think it'll take a few days to fully get situated and figure things out.”

Narracott also had her first meal in the athletes’ dining hall which features a huge array of options for both hungry athletes and officials in between training sessions.

“It's fun being able to have so much choice for dinner without having to cook it. I am definitely looking forward to getting to the track tomorrow.”

Narracott will hit the track tomorrow with official training sessions commencing in a few days time.

Australian athletes have continued to arrive in both the PyeongChang Mountain Village and Gangneung Coastal Village today, with more to come as the 2018 Olympic Team gears up for the Opening Ceremony on February 8.
