The New South Wales Institute of Sport/ Ski and Snowboard Australia Development mogul team is now in the final stages of its pre-season training camp in Silver Star Mountain, Canada. Development team coach Peter 'Toppa' Topalovic reports that the camp has been "by far the best and most productive pre-season camp in my years as head coach of the team".

Toppa continues: "I am extremely satisfied with the outcome of the camp. The combination of significant early snowfalls along with world class training facilities in Silver Star provided us with optimal training conditions for the athletes to increase skill development".

"The NSWIS team of Rob 'Le Corporal' Lovick, Sam Hall, David Graham, Emma and Rohan Chapman-Davies have trained exceptionally well in the last week and I am very happy with their progress. They have been putting top to bottom runs down the mogul course at an impressive rate and with a three day training block remaining it will top them off just nicely before we start the competition phase."

"On a disappointing note, Emma Chapman Davies twisted her knee going into the top air of the mogul course two days ago and has sustained damage to her MCL. We are waiting on a full damage report from the MRI scan, and fingers crossed it is nothing to serious."

"Our strength and conditioner Alex Moore has also completed his two weeks of 'smashing' the athletes in the gym and is to be commended for his efforts. He provided individual and group gym sessions daily along with updated gym programs and group information sessions on the importance of strength and conditioning as elite athletes."

"Alex’s knowledge and enthusiasm is unparalleled and is a fantastic resource for the mogul skiing program."

"The past two weeks have been a nightmare for me as a result of the Italian Europa Cup events in Ovindoli and Roccaraso being cancelled due to lack of snow,"

"There were many sleepless nights trying to reschedule a new competition tour suitable for the team and I am pleased to say we are now back on track. The NSWIS team will now depart Silver Star on January 11 for Durango Mountain, Colorado, to contest two single mogul events on the Rocky Mountain tour (January 13 and 14). We will then head Airolo, Switzerland, for two single mogul events on the Europe Cup tour scheduled for January 17 and 18."

"Emma and Rohan Chapman-Davies, Sam Hall and David Graham will then return home to Australia January 19 to commence preparations for school and year 12 HSC."

"Snow conditions permitting, Rob Lovick and I will stay in Europe and contest the next Europa Cup event In Schliersee, Germany before meeting up with the OWIA mogul team in Spindleruv Myln, Czech Republic, for Rob to compete in the second World Cup of his career."
