Dual Moguls – Ed and Lottie eliminate Canada in mixed team 1/8 final
Scheduled to take on Canada in the opening dual moguls event at Gangwon 2024, Edward Hill and Lottie Lodge put their best foot forward to pull off a 52-19 victory in the mixed team 1/8 final.
They advanced to the quarter-finals for a showdown against Japan, which went the way of Japan (20-50) with Lottie crashing after the top air. The Aussie pair placed in a tie for 7th overall.
Edward’s second run was the highlight of the day. The 17-year-old from Hawthorn credited his coach’s message for the performance in front of a strong Aussie supporter group, including his family.
“[Before the run] I spoke to my coach Nicole and she said 'do what you did in training',” Edward said. “I got to the top and thought about what she said and it turned out well.
“It's good to have some support, I haven't seen my family in a while, it's good to see them."
Lottie reflected on the experience fondly and enjoyed the course.
“It was pretty soft out there today compared to the other days so that's been fun,” Lottie said. “Training went well but I didn't quite put it down (against Japan) but that's ok.

"I'm just excited to go out again (on Saturday)."
Lottie and Edward return to Jeongseon High 1 Ski Resort tomorrow for the women's dual moguls (from 12:30pm AEDT) and men's dual moguls (from 3:30pm AEDT).
