World rowing champions Duncan Free and Drew Ginn remained on track to defend their title after they won the final of the men's pair at the Australian selection trials.
Queenslander Free and Victorian Ginn held off the challenge from five-time Olympian James Tomkins (Vic) and Sam Conrad (Qld) to win by half a boat.
Victorians James Marburg and Cameron McKenzie McHarg finished in third. Ginn said that he and Free were improving with every performance.
"We seem to have a strung a few good performances together now," Ginn said.
"There was a good fight on between the two boats behind us so our plan was to get some clear water."
Tasmania's Sam Beltz claimed the final of the men's lightweight single scull while South Australian Amber Halliday won the women's equivalent.
Sally Kehoe (Qld) and Kate Hornsey (Tas) produced a great race to topple the reigning champions, Kim Crow (Vic) and Sarah Cook (ACT), in the final of the women's pair.
Earlier, Queensland's Pippa Savage won the women's single scull and Victorian David Crawshay the men's.
