Australian duo Lauren Mitchell and Larrissa Miller competed well at the first Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus Category A World Cup, in Zibo, China.
Mitchell won the event she struck gold in at the 2010 World Championships, scoring 14.40 to win the floor final. She followed this up with a bronze medal on the beam, with a score of 14.650.
Miller matched this achievement with a 14.600 on Uneven Bars to also claim bronze.
Two-time Olympian Cheng Fei, the most successful Chinese female gymnast, won the vault title in a triumphant return to international competition. Her title was one of six gold medals won by the Chinese team in their home competition.
The World Cup competitions are being used by all countries in their preparation for the London Olympics and success by the Australians is a great indication of their preparation for London.
Mitchell's breakthrough came at London's North Grenwich (O2) Arena, home of the 2012 Olympic gymnastic competition. It was there where she won silver medals on beam and floor and narrowly missed a medal in the all-around final. It was the first time an Australian woman had won a World Championship medal in an individual apparatus final.
Looking to London Mitchell is poised to become the first Australian artistic gymnast to win an Olympic medal.
