IOC and GE Extend Partnership to 2020

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) today announced an extension to its current Worldwide TOP Partnership with GE through to 2020.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) today announced an extension to its current Worldwide TOP Partnership with GE through to 2020, including the XXII Olympic Winter Games (2014) in Sochi, Russia, the Games of the XXXI Olympiad in Rio (2016), the XXIII Olympic Winter Games (2018) and the Games of the XXXII Olympiad (2020). 

The announcement, made today in Moscow, Russia, means GE will continue as the exclusive provider of a wide range of innovative products and services that are integral to staging a successful Olympic Games.

IOC President Jacques Rogge welcomed GE’s continued commitment to the Olympic Movement: “GE is a leading organisation, with innovation and sustainability at its core. Over the years, GE has become a vital part of the efforts to deliver sustainably responsible Olympic Games. We are delighted to continue our work with them.”

Gerhard Heiberg, Chairman of the IOC Marketing Commission, said, “The Olympic Movement relies on the resource and expertise of our Partners in order to be able to organise a successful Olympic Games. Worldwide Partners confirmed for London 2012 are: Coca-Cola, Acer, Atos Origin, Dow, GE, McDonald’s, Omega, Panasonic, P&G, Samsung and Visa.

Atos Origin, Panasonic and Samsung have partnerships through 2016.
