Johnstone posts impressive performances on US Snowboard Revolution Tour

The NSWIS/SSA Snowboard Halfpipe Development Team has completed the Revolution Tour events for 2008 with some impressive results from Nathan Johnstone. NSWIS Coach Ben Alexander reports on the teams progress:

The NSWIS/SSA Snowboard Halfpipe Development Team has completed the Revolution Tour events for 2008 with some impressive results from Nathan Johnstone.

NSWIS Coach Ben Alexander reports on the teams progress:

“The standard of these events has risen to an extremely high level over the past year. It’s almost mandatory to have at least one 900 degree rotation in your run to make it to finals and even a 1080 to stand on the top step of the podium.”

“The USA use these events as selection for their Junior World Championship Team which assures that all the top juniors in the country are in attendance.”

Spirit Mountain, Minnesota
57 riders competed in the event, top 12 riders advance to finals.

Nathan Johnstone: 2nd qualifications, 5th final

Copper Mountain, Colorado
74 riders competed in the event, top 12 riders advance to finals.

Nathan Johnstone: 3rd qualifications, 7th final
Jason Maxfield: 18th qualifications
Charlie Steinbacher : 25th qualifications
Sam Murphy: 28th qualifications

Park City, Utah
74 riders competed in the event, top 12 riders advance to finals.

Nathan Johnstone: 2nd qualifications, 4th final
Sam Murphy: 26th qualifications
Charlie Steinbacher : 28th qualifications
Jason Maxfield: 37th qualifications

The team now heads to Tamarack, Idaho, to compete in a US Grand Prix event. With superstar Shaun White expected to also compete, it will no doubt be a great experience for the young team.
