The Kookaburras have ended their round matches on top of Pool A after a convincing 3-0 win over Pakistan, qualifying for the semi-final against Korea, on a controversial day at the World Cup in Moenchengladbach, Germany.

Firing at the right time of the tournament, the Kookaburras again dominated the match with Bevan George scoring twice for Australia, while Jamie Dwyer has hit top form on the big stage, his individual run and goal in the 32nd minute showing why he's considered one of the best players in International hockey.

While the win saw the Kookaburras qualify for the semis in first place, with Spain finishing in second, the other pool was a lot more controversial.

The third match of the day saw Korea and Germany battle it out for a spot in the semis. A draw would see them both qualify but a win to either would see the winner qualify along with Holland.

In a lacklustre match neither team was able to score, with both teams qualifying for the semis and relegating the Netherlands to third place in Pool B, missing the semis at a major tournament for the first time in quite some time.

Germany will play Spain in one semi-final, while Korea will play the Kookaburras in the other, the winners to face-off in Sunday's final. Both semi-finals will be great matches, with Australia going into theirs full of confidence after their recent wins.

The Kookaburras play Korea at 5:30pm on Friday (1:30am Saturday morning AEST). Win that and they're another step closer to the goal they set themselves eighteen months ago.
