Australia's Cheltzie Lee has taken to the ice for the first time in Vancouver as her Olympic preparation moves into full swing.
Training at the Trout Lake Centre, Lee spent around 40 minutes on the ice moving through her routine as well as working on some specific areas.
"It was great to be out there, that's for sure," Lee said.
"After a long flight yesterday it was great to be in training and to begin my real preparation."
It has been a whirlwhind ride for the 16-year-old who only found out less than a fortnight ago she would take her place in Vancouver.
"The Village is great and just being here is really special but I know that I want to bring out my best performance and keep improving," Lee said.
Lee's coach Kylie Fennell was impressed with what she saw at the opening practice session.
"For the day after a long flight she did well, it was just about getting on the ice today," Fennell said.
