Cheltzie Lee will skate in her first World Championship competition this week, with an Australian berth at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics up for grabs.

Lee will secure the Australian spot if she finishes in the top 24 at the world titles, to be held in Los Angeles commencing on Wednesday March 25 Australian time.

And the form that the 15-year-old OWI/AIS skater displayed in finishing 13th at the Four Continents competition in February gives good reason to believe she can do it.

Joining Lee in Los Angeles to skate for a place for their country in Vancouver will be Mark Webster in the men’s competition, and OWI scholarship athletes Danielle O’Brien and Gregory Merriman in ice dancing.

Webster produced a seasonal pb score of 123.08 in finishing 15th at Four Continents, while O’Brien and Merriman also delivered their best performance for the season in placing tenth at the same event.
