Emma Lincoln-Smith has moved closer to her best form, finishing in tenth place in the second round of the Skeleton World Cup in Altenberg, Germany. Lincoln-Smith recorded a time of two minutes 4.16 seconds for her two runs, 4.34 seconds behind race winner Anja Huber of Germany.

Australian Institute of Sport team-mate Michelle Steele was in 18th place, 6.13 seconds behind the winner.

Silver went to Huber’s compatriot Kerstin Szymkowiak, 0.13 seconds off the pace, while Torino 2006 gold medallist Maya Pedersen of Switzerland picked up the bronze.

Lincoln-Smith’s result put her into 11th place on the World Cup standings on 256 points.

After taking the opening two events, Huber leads the standings on 450 points.

The third round of the World Cup will be held in the Austrian town of Igls on December 12.
