Cameron Morton has produced his best performance of the season in the final World Cup before the Torino Games, finishing in 68th place in the Antholtz sprint.

Morton recorded a time of 29 minutes 41.8 seconds for the 10km course, missing just one target along the way, and ending the race three minutes 30.6 seconds behind the winner.

It was one of the best five results of the Victorian biathlete's career.

Mark Raymond placed 91st in a time of 32 minutes 10.2 seconds after four penalties on the shooting range.

The gold medal went to Frode Andresen of Norway in a time of 26 minutes 11.2 seconds, from Rocco Gross of Germany.
