Australian biathlete Cameron Morton has finished in 50th place in a European Cup event in Geilo, Norway.

Australian biathlete Cameron Morton has finished in 50th place in a European Cup event in Geilo, Norway.

Serving as a warm-up event for the Beitostolen World Cup next weekend, the event attracted a strong field of the world’s top competitors, including four of the top ten and ten of the top 20 from last season.

Morton had a shooting fault-free round, completing the course in 30 minutes 13.6 seconds, 2:23.6 behind race winner Tomasz Sikora of Poland.

Team-mate Mark Raymond finished in 91st place in the 112 person field.
