Narracott ready for favourite track at St Moritz
With only two world cups to go until the PyeongChang 2018 Games, skeleton athletes Jackie Narracott and John Farrow are edging closer and closer to the South Korean Games.

SKELETON: With only two world cups to go until the PyeongChang 2018 Games, skeleton athletes Jackie Narracott and John Farrow are edging closer and closer to the South Korean Games.

Farrow currently sits in 27th place on the men's world rankings while Narracott sits in 17th.

“I’m feeling confident after Altenberg,” said Narracott who finished 17th at last week’s world cup, only +3.01 seconds behind the leader.

“It was a good week to start the year off with.”

The world cup circuit heads to St Moritz this week, where Narracott will make her fourth appearance on the Swiss track.

“It’s without a doubt my favourite track (everyone says it) and I can’t wait to go fast down it,” the 26-year-old said.

“It has a feeling like no other and always brings a smile to me face.”

The Queenslander said it has been a bit of a challenging week with official training being cancelled on Tuesday and athletes only allowed one run on Wednesday.

Despite the difficulties, Narracott is pushing on and remaining focused on her Olympic dream which will be determined in the coming weeks.

“I’m still confident though that I’ll put it all together when it counts.

“I’m still in that place where I know my dream is close but I won’t believe it until I get the selection call.”

Narracott is hoping to make her Olympic debut in PyeongChang, following in her uncle Paul’s footsteps who competed at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympics Games and the Albertville 1992 Winter Olympic Games. Paul Narracott was the first person to compete at both a Summer and Winter Olympic Games after switching from Athletics in ‘84 to Bobsleigh in ‘92.

But his niece is putting all of the family history out of her mind to focus on securing a solid result at this weekend’s world cup.

“Honestly, I’m more focused on this week and doing everything I can now.

“I know I need to stay in the moment to go fast so that’s what I’m concentrating on.”

Narracott will race in the women’s skeleton event on Friday January 12th at 9:30am local time (7:30pm AEDT) while 1:04pm local time (11:04pm AEDT) and you can follow them live at http://www.ibsf.org/en/ibsf-tv
