SKELETON: Four weeks ahead of the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, skeleton athlete Jackie Narracott has recorded one of her best ever World Cup results.
The Queenslander finished eighth at the weekend’s St Moritz track, celebrating her second career top-ten finish in a World Cup event in addition to her seventh-place result in Lake Placid in January 2016.
“Best result in two years and only one spot off equalling my best ever result,” Narracott said, understandably excited about the result.
“It was super close after run 1 with only 0.2 between me in 9th and 3rd.
“To show the composure, consistency and progress that I did today was huge. I’m stoked.”

The 26-year-old now sits in 17th on the women’s world rankings and is in a good position ahead of the 2018 Winter Games.
“Yeah it’s huge. It’s seemingly all coming together at the right time,” Narracott said.
In the men’s event, Sochi 2014 Olympian John Farrow finished in 24th place.
