OWI/AIS Short Track Speed Skating Coach Ann Zhang reports on the team’s training camp in Salt Lake City, where three new prospective skaters have joined the team, looking to earn a place in the 5000m relay team for World Cup competition and the Vancouver Games.

OWI/AIS Short Track Speed Skating Coach Ann Zhang reports on the team’s training camp in Salt Lake City, where three new prospective skaters have joined the team, looking to earn a place in the 5000m relay team for World Cup competition and the Vancouver Games.

“The training camp has been going very well. We have been focussing on the top speed and doing high intensity work since we came here two weeks ago.”

“Tania (Tatiana Borodulina) returned to the team three weeks ago after a month in army camp, and she is skating very well also, and back up to top speed.”

“The new guys have been keeping up with the others, and doing very well so far.”

“We have two more weeks here with one competition on August 22nd at the Utah Olympic Oval here in Salt Lake, then we head back to Australia for training and World Cup trials, then we will leave for the opening World Cup in Beijing on September 13th.
