The draws for the Olympic Tennis event have been unveiled at Ariake Tennis Park ahead of action beginning at 11.00am local time on Saturday 24 July.
World No.1 Ash Barty will face world No.48 Sara Sorribes Tormo of Spain in her Olympic debut.
Debutant Ajla Tomljanovic will meet Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan and five-time Olympian Sam Stosur will meet world No.20 Elena Rybakina, also from Kazakhstan in her first-round singles match.
“I've seen my first-round opponent, and honestly I didn't look any further than that. I have been on the phone already with my coach and trying to have a little quick discussion about that,” Stosur said after the draw.
“All matches are going to be hard. It's just a great opportunity to go out there and represent my country and do my best.”

On the men’s side, Queensland’s John Millman will meet 19-year-old Lorenzo Musetti from Italy, in their first encounter.
“Lorenzo, to people who don’t follow the tour week in week out, he’s one of the biggest talents coming through on the tour,” Millman said about his first-round match up.
“He’s young, confident and in some great form. We saw him two sets to love up against Novak, not too many people have been able to do that.
“It’s going to be a really challenging match up. But I think it’s really exciting to test yourself against one of the brightest prospects of our game and I’ll leave it all out there.
Australia’s other men’s singles player, James Duckworth will face Lukas Klein of Slovakia when he makes his debut in the Olympic green and gold.

In the doubles, Ash Barty and Storm Sanders are the sixth seeds in the women’s doubles draw and face Japanese pair Nao Hibino and Makoto Ninomiya in their opening round.
Stosur and Ellen Perez will face Jelena Ostapenko and Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia in their first doubles match.

John Peers and Max Purcell are up against Americans Austin Krajicek and Tennys Sandgren in the men’s doubles and Millman and Luke Saville will face Austrian pair Oliver Marach and Philipp Oswald.
