Australian skeleton novice Emma Lincoln-Smith has finished in seventh place in the second competition of her career, an America’s Cup race in Calgary, Canada.

AIS squad team-mates Melissa Hoar and Bindee Goon Chew also finished in the top 15, Hoar at 12th and Goon Chew at 13th.

Lincoln-Smith had finished in 11th place in her debut event yesterday.

Today’s event was a dead heat between US slider Courtney Yamada and Canadian Carla Pavan, both recording a combined time for the two runs of one minute 57.97 seconds.

Lincoln-Smith was 1.37 seconds behind.

As well as achieving three top 15 placings, there were promising stage time results from the squad.

Goon Chew had the fastest start in the second run and was in fifth place at the last intermediate stage before slipping back to 13th.

Jessica Knox had the second fastest start in the first run, and was in sixth place at the final intermediate stage before a driving mistake in the last section of the course also put her back to 26th place.

The team now travels to Park City for another America’s Cup event next weekend.
