The 26-year-old AIS snowboarder put together two middle of field runs to qualify in tenth place, but then went down to the eventual silver medallist, Caroline Calve of Canada, in the head-to-head round of 16 finals.

Shaw ended the season in tenth position on the World Cup points table, an impressive climb up the ladder from the 24th place she achieved last season.

In a strong and consistent series of performances, she produced two fourth placings, three other top ten finishes and two other 11th placings.

Germany’s Amelie Kober completed a wonderful second half of the season – in which she had won five of the last six events – to take the parallel title with 6232 points

Austrian Doris Guenther finished in second place on 6070 points, while Shaw collected 2582 for the season.
