Mark McNee was the best-performed skater in the OWI short track team during the past season. Mark set personal best times in the 500m and 1000m events at the World Cup in Bormio, Italy, making the quarter finals of the short distance race.
He set the pb by qualifying second in the
preliminary round of the 500m, then made second again behind World 500m Champion JiaJun Li of China in his heat. In the 1000m, his time rated him 10th in the event.

His individual placings were also significant improvements on his 2003 results, with 25th in the 500m (33rd in 2003), 23rd in the 1000m (32nd) and 25th in the 1500m (36th).
