Australian skeleton athlete Emma Lincoln-Smith has finished top 20 in the second World Cup of the season in Lake Placid, New York, to follow Michelle Steele's remarkable sixth placing in the opening World Cup of the season in Calgary the previous weekend. Lincoln-Smith placed 15th, with the second member of the Australian Touring Team Bindee Johnston in 22nd place.
It was a debut World Cup for both sliders, and the result kept Australia in sixth place on the World Cup Nation's standings. A top eight placing at the end of the qualification period will guarantee Australia one spot in the Olympic field of only 15 athletes.
