Australia's slalom duo of Jono Brauer and Brad Wall have taken another step closer to Olympic selection, both producing top 60 per cent of field results in a World Cup in Adelboden, Switzerland, over the weekend.

Brauer finished in 37th position in the first run, his best placing of the season, with a time of 53.66 seconds, 4.72 seconds behind first run leader Giorgio Rocca of Italy.

Wall was five places further back in 42nd place in a time of 59.19 seconds.

The result gives both skiers the second of three top 60 per cent results they need to meet the Australian Olympic Committee's qualification standard for selection to the Torino 2006 team.

Rocca went on to win the event, his fourth victory in four events this season.

US skier Ted Ligety took the silver, in his third podium finish for the year.
