MOGUL SKIING: Australia will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with in the women’s Moguls at PyeongChang but there is plenty of world class competition that will be looking to spoil the Aussie party come February.
We take a look at our Aussie contingent and some of the favourites in the field that will be pushing for podium finishes at PyeongChang.
The Australian contingent
Britt Cox claimed the overall Freestyle Skiing World Cup Crystal Globe for the 2016/17 season after an exceptional run that saw her win seven of the 11 gold medals on offer.

She backed those results up with World Championships gold in Sierra Nevada to cap off a remarkable run of results. She took out her first win of the 2017/18 World Cup season in Calgary and currently leads the overall standings as she builds towards her third Olympic appearance come February.
Young gun Jakara Anthony has recorded two top 15 results to start this World Cup season while the likes of Madii Himbury, Claudia Gueli and Taylah O’Neill have all finished inside the top 20 at a World Cup event.

Kauf has got off to a stellar start to the 2017/18 season which sees her sit second on the overall World Cup standings after the opening four events. After finishing fifth in Ruka to open the season, the 22-year-old American topped the podium in the first event in Thaiwoo before backing up the next day to claim second. The results were Kauf’s first ever World Cup podium finishes in Moguls and highlights her potential as a gold medal contender in PyeongChang.
Perrine Laffont (France)

Laffont was exceptionally consistent throughout the 2016/17 season as she finished second behind Britt Cox on the overall World Cup standings. Laffont won silver at the World Championships before taking gold in the non-Olympic Dual Moguls event the following day. The 19-year-old looks set to make her Winter Olympic debut come February and after a steady start to the 2017/18 season she is set to push the world’s best in PyeongChang.

The ever consistent trio of Justine, Chloe and Maxine will no doubt be pushing each other with a bit of sibling rivalry as they look to add some more Winter Olympic Moguls medals to the Canadian tally. Justine currently sits sixth on the overall World Cup standings, won the Sochi 2014 gold medal and was also crowned 2015 World Champion. Chloe was only beaten by Justine in Sochi and also has several World Cup medals to her name.
