Ski and Snowboard Australia rider Emily Thomas has finished in 24th place in a snowboardcross World Cup in Nassfeld-Hermagor, Austria.

Ski and Snowboard Australia rider Emily Thomas has finished in 24th place in a snowboardcross World Cup in Nassfeld-Hermagor, Austria.

The result was one place off her best for the season.

Thomas had a best of two qualifying run of 57.72 seconds, just over three seconds behind fastest qualifier Dominique Maltais of Canada.

The event was won by French rider Deborah Anthonioz of France.

In the second event to be held at the Austrian venue, Thomas finished in 26th place, with Maltais taking the gold from hometown girl Doresia Krings.
