Australians won three of the five titles on offer on finals day of the 2012 Oceania Championships in Ballarat over the weekend. The Aussies claimed all three doubles events with Kiwis winning the two singles titles.

Australia was guaranteed two title before the finals began, with the mixed doubles and ladies doubles all Australian affairs.

Raymond Tam and Eugenia Tanaka were up against team mates Glenn Warfe and Leanne Choo in the mixed doubles. In a closely fought contest it was Tam and Tanaka who managed to keep their noses in front for the majority of the match, allowing them to take a tight two set match 21-17 21-19 to claim their first Oceania title in what was their first tournament together.

Next up on court was the women's singles and an opportunity for South Australian teenager Verdet Kessler to reverse the result from the Oceania Mixed Team event where she went down to Michelle Chan (NZ) in three games just a few days earlier. While staying close throughout the early stages of both games, Kessler was unable to get in front of her more experienced opponent, with the top seeded Chan winning the title in 21-10 21-17 in 34 minutes.

Choo and Tanaka again found themselves on the opposite sides of the net, this time in the women's doubles final. Choo, partnering Renuga Veeran was looking to win her second consecutive women's doubles crown after taking her first title in Invercargill two years ago with former partner Kate Wilson-Smith, while Tanaka was looking to make it two for the day with Ann-Louise Slee. The world-ranked 34 pair of Choo/Veeran proved too strong for Tanaka/Slee, winning 21-16 21-13.

Ross Smith and Glenn Warfe were looking to make it three consecutive Oceanina men's doubles titles when they took on New Zealand's Oliver Leydon-Davis and Kevin Dennerly-Minturn. After the Kiwis defeated the Aussies in the Thomas Cup qualifiers last Sunday, Warfe and Smith had fought back to win their second match for the week in the Oceania Mixed Team Championship on Tuesday. At one match apiece for the week, the individual final was expected to be a tight contest.

The NZ duo jumped out of the blocks to lead 3-9 in the opening game before Warfe and Smith fought back go win the first game 21-17. The second game followed the same pattern as the first, only this time the lead for Dennerly Minturn/Leydon Davis was 7-14. Again the Aussies fought back to win the game, and with it their third straight title 21-18.

The Men's singles was and all New Zealand encounter with James Eunson defeating Michale Fowke 21-19 21-15.
