The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) today thanked all those involved in delivering what promises to be the best ever coverage of the Olympic Games.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) today thanked all those involved in delivering what promises to be the best ever coverage of the Olympic Games.

For the first time this coverage will be available on the Seven and SBS television networks, via Yahoo!7 over the internet and on Telstra's Next G mobile phone network. The efforts of these organisations will provide Australia with the best possible viewing experience of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The IOC and AOC also asked all other broadcasters and content providers to respect these Olympic broadcasting arrangements.

"The Olympic movement depends upon its broadcasting program to support both the staging of the Olympic Games and the many activities funded by the IOC and National Olympic Committees," Mr John Coates, President of the AOC, said.

"The Olympic movement is undermined when other organisations incorrectly suggest an association or connection with the broadcast of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games or otherwise unlawfully use footage of the Olympic Games."

Millions of Australians are expected to enjoy the official broadcasts of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, making them the most watched event in Australia.
