Tokyo 2020 track cyclist Alex Manly is enjoying a return to road cycling, winning her first ever UCI WorldTour stage and finishing on the Tour of Scandinavia podium (pictured above on right) to headline the weekend action in Olympic sports.
Cycling – Road
Alex Manly took out the 119.2km UCI WorldTour stage in Norway on Saturday on her way to a well-deserved podium placing in the Tour of Scandinavia.

Fellow Aussie Chloe Hosking pushed Alex right to the end of the fourth stage, claiming second place for her efforts.
The consistency Alex showed across the stages was key to landing on the podium, with the 26-year-old maintaining a top-8 placing in five of the six stages.
Golf
Cameron Smith's pursuit to become the world's highest ranked men's golfer continues, as he finished nine-under in a tie for 13th at the St. Jude Championships in Memphis, USA.
He needed to win the opening tournament of the PGA playoffs to unseat Scottie Scheffler (USA) as the world no.1.
Adam Scott was the best performing Aussie, going -11 for the tournament to tie for fifth.

Tennis
A glittering nine-match winning streak has come to an end for Nick Kyrgios at the Canadian Masters quarter-finals, with world no.10 Hubert Hurkacz (POL) winning behind a dominant third set 7-6 (4) 6-7(5) 6-1.
Nick's win-streak took off after meeting Novak Djokovic (SRB) in the Wimbledon final, and included a win over world no.1 Daniil Medvedev (RUS), also at the Canadian Masters in Montreal.

Not since Nick defeated Rafael Nadal (ESP) in 2014 had he defeated a current world no.1.
Next up for the 27-year-old is the Cincinnati Masters in the USA.
Athletics
Less than two weeks after winning pole vault gold at the Commonwealth Games, Nina Kennedy achieved her maiden Diamond League victory.
She cleared 4.66m to separate herself from the competition in Monaco, higher than the 4.60m she delivered to win gold in Birmingham.
The Diamond League continues to Lausanne (Switzerland) and Brussels (Germany), where Nina will hope to qualify for the Diamond League finals in Zurich, Switzerland in September.
Football
Sam Kerr has been nominated for the 2022 Ballon d'Or after excellent international performances and a wonderful season in England.
The Ballon d'Or award, which is the ‘Golden Ball’, goes to a male and female player voted to be the best in the world by journalists.

Nominated for the Ballon D'or every year since its inception in 2018, Sam was third in the voting in 2021 after a stellar Olympic campaign and a sensational season with Chelsea FC.
The winner will be announced on 17 October.
