Water Polo – Sharks close Japan Test series on a high

The Aussie Sharks have wrapped up their time in Brisbane with a convincing 13-8 win over Japan on Friday night.

“We were a bit disappointed from our result on Wednesday, it wasn’t our best performance,” Nic said.

“We went away, we looked at the game, worked on some things and I’m really proud of the boys that we bounced back tonight, showed a bit of resilience and confidence,” he said.

It was a thrilling finish to the second game of the night, with the Stingers Green v Gold game going down to the wire in a penalty shoot out.

With World Championships selection on the line the squad as keen to leave it all in the pool, as they went head-to-head with each other.

“It’s really exciting that we were able to practice with a proper game in front of a home crowd and it’s going to be a nervous next few days waiting for [World Championships] selection but it’s really exciting to see where we’re at as a squad,” Gabi Palm said.

The Aussie Sharks have extended their time in Queensland and will head up to the Sunshine Coast for a week-long training camp.
