ARCHERY: 2012 London Olympian Taylor Worth has shown a liking for next year’s Olympic archery venue, with a strong performance at a pre-Games test event.
Worth is through to the third round in Rio, having enjoyed a 6-0 win over Ukraine's Viktor Ruban in the first round, and then a 7-1 win over Colombia's Daniel Pineda in the second round.
Worth, who finished qualifying in 21st place, will now take on Korean fifth seed, Ku Bonchan, for a place in the quarter finals.
World Indoor Champion, Ryan Tyack, had a big 7-1 win over Finland’s Antti Tekoniemi in the first round, but then lost a tight struggle with Canadian second seed, Crispin Duenas, in the second round.
Alec Potts and Semra Lingard are both still to have their first round matches.
Australia has already qualified a men’s team for next year’s Olympics, following a top eight finish at this year’s World Championships.
