DIVING: Some of Australia’s most promising young divers will get the chance to experience top level international competition when they compete in the Madrid Grand Prix this weekend.
The three young divers, Georgia Sheehan, Teju Williamson and Emily Meaney, will benefit from the top level international experience.
Sheehan, a gold medalists at last year’s World Junior Championships, will compete in the 3-metre springboard, while Williamson and Meaney will both contest the 10-metre platform.
The trio will be joined in Madrid by two of Australia’s more experienced divers.
2012 Olympian and two-time Commonwealth Games diver, Anabelle Smith, will compete in the 3-metre springboard as a valuable warm-up before the World University Games early next month.
And Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Domonic Bedggood, will contest the 10-metre platform as he continues his preparation for next month’s World Championships.
Bedggood won gold diving alongside Beijing gold medalist Matthew Mitcham in the platform synchro at last year’s Commonwealth Games.
