GOLF: Brother-sister combination Kevin and Celina Yuan have put Australia within reach of its first Australian Youth Olympic Festival medals at Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club on Saturday.

GOLF: Brother-sister combination Kevin and Celina Yuan have put Australia within reach of its first Australian Youth Olympic Festival medals at Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club on Saturday.

Kevin Yuan, from Bankstown NSW, holds a four stroke lead in the boy’s competition at 15-under par following his third round 8-under par 64.

China’s Zecheng Dou is at 11-under par in second place following his third round 69.

Great Britain’s Ashton Turner is in the bronze medal position at 10-under par.

Australia’s Brett Coletta is in a tie for fourth place at 9-under par and will need a good round on Sunday to move into medal contention.

In the girl’s competition, Kevin Yuan’s sister Celina is in outright second place.

Celina fired a 3-under par 69 on Saturday to move to 2-under par, three strokes behind Great Britain’s Georgia Hall who leads at 5-under par, following a third round 68.

Her British teammate Gabriella Cowley is in third place at even par.

Australian Amy Walsh is in 11th place after a third round 75.

The Australia Green team leads the teams event after three rounds.

The final round takes place at Twin Creeks on Sunday with the medal presentation to follow.
