Alexander's Story
Queensland teenagers Alex Haas and Jake Donaghey became the youngest ever Australians to be selected in the Olympic canoe-sprint team. The duo, who began canoeing in primary school, smashed their personal best time to gain selection in the C2 1000m event at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
At the age of just 17, the pair finished a credible third in the Olympic B Final. Haas and Donaghey were coached by Kevin Crisp at the London Olympics- their coach since their days at Nudgee Junior College.
