Alwyn's Story

Alwyn Isaac Warren was an Australian footballer who represented Australia at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. Born in Ipswich, Queensland, on 1 November 1931, Warren was a talented centre-half and a product of Queensland's strong football tradition.

At the Melbourne Olympics, Warren played for Australia in the football tournament, including the historic 2–0 victory over Japan and the quarter-final loss to India.

Warren played club football with Blackstone Rovers and later became a life member of the Ipswich Knights Soccer Club. He is remembered as one of the many outstanding players produced by Ipswich, a region with a rich football heritage.
