Amber's Story

1980 –

In the women’s quadruple sculls at Athens 2004, Amber Bradley, Dana Faletic, Rebecca Sattin and Kerry Hore and were fourth across the line in the final. After the medals had been presented it was discovered that a member of the third-placed crew, from Ukraine, failed the drugs test and Australia was elevated to the bronze medal position. A member of the silver medal-winning British crew, that finished behind the Germans, was Rebecca Romero who won the gold medal in the women’s cycling individual pursuit at Beijing 2008.

At Beijing 2008, the quadruple sculls, with Bradley and Hore aboard, finished sixth. Bradley garnered four medals at world championships, beginning with a gold, with Faletic and Hore, in the same event at the 2003 world championships and a bronze in the double sculls two years later. In 2006, she was in the sweep-oared coxless fours and eights at the world championships, winning bronze and gold medals respectively.
