Andrew Ford competed in his first FINA Junior World Championships and FINA World Championships in the same year in 2015, finishing both events in eighth place. That same year he competed at his second World University Games equalling his 2013 finish of seventh place.
A key member of the UWA Torpedoes, Andrew went on to win the Australian National Water Polo League title in 2016.
His success continued in 2017, winning gold at the FINA World League Intercontinental Cup and competing at the 2017 World Aquatic Championships where the Australian team finished in eighth.
In 2018 Andrew claimed his first World Cup podium with a silver medal in the final against Hungary, and a year later claimed bronze at the World League Super Final.
Andrew joined his brother, George, making his Olympic debut at the delayed Tokyo 2020 games. The Aussies would enter a difficult group stage of the games, facing off against Spain, Croatia, and eventual gold medalists Serbia. Australia would narrowly miss out on the quarter-finals of the tournament, as head-to-head rulings favored Montenegro, who had defeated the Aussies in their opening game.
