Andrew's Story
Born in Perth in 1973, Andrew McNally was part of the Australian baseball generation that helped carry the sport onto the Olympic stage in the 1990s. McNally was 22 when he competed at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games, where baseball was still establishing its place on the Olympic program. Australia finished seventh in the men’s tournament in Atlanta. For McNally, Olympic selection placed him among the group that gave Australian baseball a presence at the highest level during an era when the national team was becoming increasingly competitive internationally.
