Anthony's Story

Anthony Falson represented the Cronulla-Sutherland Water Polo Club before earning selection for Australia at the Moscow 1980 Olympic Games. Born in 1953, he was 26 when the tournament began and celebrated his 27th birthday during the Games. He was part of a 12-player Australian squad coached by Tom Hoad.

Australia opened its campaign with a 9-5 victory over Bulgaria before losses to Cuba and eventual silver medallists Yugoslavia sent the team into the classification round. Falson and his teammates responded with victories over Sweden, Italy and Greece, as well as a draw with Romania, to finish seventh overall.
