Arthur's Story
Arthur Bull, of Sydney’s Leichhardt Rowing Club, was a late addition to the Australian team for Paris 1924 after a special fund to send him to the French capital realised the requisite amount for him to make the trip. Bull, the Australian sculling champion in 1922 and 1923, made the four-man final at Paris but unfortunately physical strain caused him to not complete the race. A subsequent medical examination revealed a heart condition and he never rowed again.
