Arthur's Story
Arthur Murray Winther was an Australian diver who represented Australia at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. Born in Victoria on 28 March 1937, Winther specialised in springboard diving and competed during the formative years of Australian international diving.
At Melbourne 1956, he competed in the men's 3-metre springboard event and finished 17th.
Following his Olympic appearance, Winther continued to compete successfully and won the Australian national springboard title in 1961. He was also a Queensland State champion and remained a respected figure in the sport.
