Brian's Story

Brian “Chookie” Vogler was an Australian footballer who represented Australia at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. Born in Ipswich, Queensland, on 30 May 1932, Vogler was a talented sportsman who initially played rugby league before switching to football.

Selected in Australia's Olympic football squad, Vogler did not appear in an Olympic match but remained part of the national team setup during the tournament.

Following the Olympics, he earned Australian representative honours, scoring on his international debut against India in December 1956. He later added further appearances for Australia and remained active in sport long after his playing career ended. His son, Peter Vogler, later became a two-time Australian Olympic baseball representative.
