Carol's Story

Carol Estelle Sim (née Bernoth) is a former Australian high jumper who represented Australia at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. Born in Coolangatta, Queensland, on 11 May 1938, she emerged as one of Australia's leading female high jumpers while still a teenager.

Before the Olympics, Sim finished fifth in the high jump at the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, highlighting her potential as one of Australia's best young field athletes.

At the Melbourne Olympics, she competed in the women's high jump and finished 14th. Her personal best of 1.65 metres ranked her among Australia's top high jumpers of the 1950s.
