Darren's Story
Born in Liverpool, New South Wales, in 1967, Darren Fagan represented Australia in judo at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. Fagan was 28 when he competed in the men’s half-lightweight division and was affiliated with Bushido Judo Club, earning his place in a sport where Olympic selection was fiercely contested.
At Atlanta, Fagan finished equal 21st in the 65-kilogram class. While his Olympic campaign was limited to one Games, selection for Australia at that level remains a notable achievement and places him among the judoka who represented the country during the 1990s.
