Don McMiken competed in the modern pentathlon at Tokyo 1964 and Mexico City 1968. At Tokyo, he finished 18th in the individual event of a sport that had previously been dominated by the Europeans, and, with Peter Macken and Duncan Page, he contributed to Australia placing an excellent fifth in the team competition. The same team finished 12th at Mexico City.
