Ricky MacMillan started competing in equestrian events when she was seven years old and made her Olympic debut as a 38-year-old at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. In Sydney, MacMillan competed in the individual and team dressage events, placing 35th and sixth respectively. Four years later at the Athens Games, MacMillan competed in the individual event on Crisp, and finished 37th.
