Erin's Story
Twenty-two-year-old Erin Carroll had been playing badminton for 10 years when she made her Olympic debut in 2008. Carroll made the round of 32 in the ladies singles at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. She received a place in the 2008 Australian Olympic Team after a reallocation of quota places by the World Badminton Federation. She lost her opening match in Beijing.
Carroll also competed at the 2003 Australian Youth Olympic Festival, winning two gold medals and one silver medal.
