Fredrick's Story
Born in 1973, Fredrick Lindberg was part of the Australian baseball team that competed at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. Lindberg was 22 when he reached the Olympic stage, representing Australia during a period when baseball was still establishing its place on the Olympic program and the national team was building greater international depth.
Australia finished seventh in the men’s tournament in Atlanta, recording wins over the Netherlands and Italy during the preliminary rounds. For Lindberg, Olympic selection placed him among the players who gave Australian baseball a presence at the highest level in the 1990s. His place in that team remains the defining mark of his Olympic career.
