Welterweight boxer Gerard O’Mahony is a dual Olympian. Winning the 2003 and 2004 Oceania Championships, O’Mahony went to Athens in good form but lost the opening round. After competing at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, O’Mahony captained the Australian boxing team in Beijing. Again competing in the welterweight division, O’Mahony lost his opening bout at the 2008 Games.
