Graeme's Story
Goalkeeper Graeme Reid represented Australia in men’s hockey at two Olympics, in 1972 and 1976. The highlight of his career was when the team won a silver medal at Montreal in 1976. After strong wins against teams including Pakistan and India, Australia lost the final 1-0 to New Zealand. At his first Games in 1972, the team placed fifth. Reid is an inductee of the Australian Capital Territory Sporting Hall of Fame.
Graeme was selected onto the Moscow 1980 Australian Olympic Team but was not able to compete after his sport federation decided to abide by the Government's boycott, and chose not send athletes.
