Hannah's Story

Snowboard Halfpipe rider Hannah Trigger made her Olympic debut at the Sochi 2014 Games at the age of 27. In 2009, Trigger took time out of the sport to rehabilitate her knee after suffering an ACL injury. She returned to the circuit in December 2010 with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the Olympics. At the end of the 2013/14 season, she had contested 17 World Cups, with her best result being ninth at Stoneham, Canada in March 2007 and in Ruka, Finland in December 2013. The results saw her headed to Sochi where she was 20th in the Snowboard Halfpipe.

A keen surfer herself, Trigger comes from a family of surfing royalty. Her father Paul Trigger was a Victorian State Champion in surfing and also an Australian Over 50s shortboard champion. Her uncle Phil notched up numerous Australian Titles finals results.
